The Construction of Metro Line 3 in Panama

On April 20, 2016, the former president of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela, signed the agreement with Japan for the finance of the expansion of the Metro network in Panama. 

The expansion of the metro in Panama with line 3 is one of the most significant projects currently developed in Panama. With the construction of a fourth bridge over the canal, it will benefit thousands of residents who live in the Panama Oeste province which travel daily to Panama City.  


On November 18, 2019 the Panama Metro announced HPH Joint Venture Consortium as the tender for line 3 of the metro. HPH has a total of 54 months for the execution of the project. 

With a total length of 34 kilometers line 3 will develop in two phases. Phase one will include the sector of Ciudad del Futuro. Phase 2 will go all the way La Chorrera. Line 3 will depart from Albrook Station and travel through Arraiján, Nuevo Chorrillo and arrive at Ciudad del Futuro with a total of 14 stations.
